Shar Baldur's Gate III Temple Trials Solution! Access the temple, find the Sooty Gems, Spear of Night, and Yurgir!

Access the Temple of Shar

To access the temple, you must go to X and press the buttons on the three tables in the following order. The first on your left, the second on your right and the last in front of you. You can also disable traps to make your job easier. All three paintings will turn green instead of red and the passage will be open.

Gem #1 Shadow Trial Baldur's Gate 3

For the first test, make the darkness appear by activating the trap on the right and switch to turn-based mode. You will see the path appear to reach the first Sooty Gem.

Cloaker and Altar

On your left you will have a jump path and a fight against a Cloaker that you can do, otherwise we will go straight to clear the area of ​​the Vengeful Tribunes and to access the altar to place our gems there. For the fight, aim first at the summoning portals so as not to be overwhelmed.

Gem #2, Doubling Trial Baldur's Gate 3

For the second gem, you will have to face your clones. By reading the books in the library, a priori undressing before the fight will make it easier, but after several attempts it didn't work for me. The fight is easily doable by following these instructions:

1. Separate your group to avoid area spells
2. Take your character with the best perception so as not to fall into an ambush
3. Initiate the fight and bring the rest of your party back
4. Preferably attack only the clone of your character, otherwise you will suffer a penalty

Gem #3, Baldur's Gate 3 Light Step Trial

This test is probably the easiest, if you do it the right way. Use a character with good stealth and stay hidden for the duration of the move. the shadows must not see you. Pass directly to the left then hide in a corner to pass the shadow. Go around and pick the lock, the throw is quite simple. You can also use the lever at the start right to access the key if you prefer.

Gem #4, Baldur's Gate 3 Leap of Faith Trial

For this test, give your blood to the statue and separate your group. Send a character remembering the tiles best (save on each move if necessary), then go to the very back of the room. If you weren't quick enough, use one of your characters that remained at the start to sacrifice blood again and allow you to recover the gem.

Silent Library and Spear of Night Baldur's Gate 3

Gems won't be enough for trials, you'll also need the Spear of Night. Go to the Silent Library and use a bow to destroy the middle portal without starting the fight. Then kill the undead and search the area to retrieve the book Teaching of Shar, the Night Song. Go to the back of the room and use this book to lower the portal and retrieve the Spear of Night, some armor and a helmet.

Baltazar Baldur's Gate 3

To the left of the temple, you can also find Baltazar, who will give you a quest if you decide not to face him. You can even use the flesh golem with a good persuasion roll!

Gem #5, boss Yurgir Baldur's Gate 3

For the last gem, go to the far right wing with a series of jumps. There you will find the boss Yurgir as well as a small army and his pet. Attacking directly will most likely be a loser, so control your character with the most persuasion to initiate dialogue. Trick Yurgir into killing his minions, then his pet. You can also encourage him to leave on his side, but you will not have his drops. Be careful, the boss is strong and has very good area attacks, remember to separate your characters if you want to face him. Then remember to search the area.

Mirror of Oblivion Baldur's Gate 3

Below, you will find a door accessible with jumps or a teleportation spell. You will then have a mirror, which you cannot activate. The one that can be activated is in act 3, Lower Town, House of Sorrow. Be careful, the choices of the mirror affect your character and are final, remember to save!
