The complete guide to understanding Ubers, keys, different bosses and of course how to easily kill Diablo Mephisto and Baal!

Keys to Terror, Hate and Destruction

In order to recover the organs to open the portal to Uber Tristam, you must have in your possession a 3x3, i.e. 3 keys of Terror, 3 of Hatred and 3 of Destruction, or 9 in total. You can collect them only in Hell, via:

• Act 1 the Countess, Key of Terror
• Act 2 Summoner, Key of Hate
• Act 5 Nihlathak, Key to Destruction

You have a chance of recovering a key from these uniques, but a few things to keep in mind:

• the MF, chance of finding magic items does not affect chance of getting a key
• you can drop several keys at once, it's technically possible to have 5 keys at once, but don't dream it's statistically "im" possible
• key drops are influenced by the numbers of players, the ideal will therefore be one on each key to be three, or even two more in split MF to be five
• you then open three red portals in the same part kill the three pre-uber and collect the Eye, Brain and Horn
• watch out for Nihlathak's Morbid Explosions though

To rush bosses more easily:

• For the Countess, always go left
• To Nihlahtak, follow this guide

Before going to face the Ubers

Whether it's the pre-ubers, eye keeper, brain and horn, or Uber Tristram, you'll need to have these stats:

• Resistances, be careful Uber Mephisto lowers them with the Conviction aura, use the Treachery runic word prebuff as needed
• The life balance curse, crucial for surviving, to obtain with Drakuls, Magic wand with life balance or the runic word Exile, also take total rejuvenation potions
• Crushing Blow Crushing Blow, to quickly decrease their life
• Open wounds, this counters healing from Ubers
• Possibly Critical Hits, to finish the last percentages of the bosses more quickly
• Think about antifreeze and antidote potions
• A teleport item for Izual, such as an amulet or staff with charge
• Have a viable class (see below)

Classes and builds to kill Ubers

Here is to show you the characters made for Ubers:

• Paladin smiter, it's very simple even with no equipment
• Druid Wolf, Assassin Kicksin, Barbarian require good gear
• Necromancer Summons require very good equipment

Pre-Uber Duriel Forgotten Sands

I always start with Duriel, because he will be testing your build. If you don't have the criteria I gave you above, you won't be able to kill him and even less the Ubers. The area itself is not very complicated, find Duriel and kill him.

Pre-Uber Izual Furnace of Pain

To kill Izual you will have to go to the end of the map. Consider having a teleport item, such as a staff or amulet with charges. Then go kill the boss, he's not very hard. Watch out for Pit Lords who are immune.

Pre-Uber Lilith Lair of the Matron

Lilith is probably the hardest boss, she hits hard and regenerates. Also watch out for his minions!

Ubers Mephisto, Diablo and Baal

Once the organs are collected, you open one last portal to Uber Tristram. Be careful in this area it is impossible to open a blue gate. Here are the steps:

1. Go immediately north to bypass the house, then lure Mephisto towards you. This is the crucial step for successful Ubers
2. Once attracted enough, kill him with the Balance of Life curse on him. Pay attention to his aura of conviction, but once dead he will no longer summon skeletons
3. Go around again to get Baal or Diablo, the order doesn't matter
4. If you have succeeded so far, the rest will not be a problem for you, put the balance and life and concentrate on the bosses by ignoring their summons. Be careful to always hit the real Baal!
5. Don't forget your Torch, store yours in the trunk if necessary to retrieve the new one
