What are the best hardware and software for video editing?

Hi everybody,

I am a fan of video editing and would like to know what are the best hardware and software for making quality videos. I know you need to have a good computer, a good graphics card, a good screen, etc. But I don't know which models, brands or features to favor or avoid. What hardware and software do you use or recommend for video editing? What are the qualities or defects of this hardware and software? What advice or tips can you give me to optimize my video editing?
