The currencies of the game

Before we begin, here are the most interesting resources in the game:

• alchemy or fusion orb, anything that has "no commercial value but so as not to exchange for anything"
• chaos orb, the base currency
• exalted orb, secondary currency (around 15 chaos each)
• divine orb, high currency (around 150 chaos each)

Start by collecting each item for a chaos or two before moving on to bigger trades! If in doubt, you can consult the pagePath of Exile currency exchange. Normally, by simply picking up the resources on the ground you will see that you already have several alchemy, fusion and chaos orbs. This way you can start purchasing equipment! Don't forget that if you have the game in French, pressing Alt will give you the name in English.

How to buy items in Path of Exile

To exchange your items, go to Poe Trade, the official Path of Exile trading site. You will then be able to search for the exact object you are looking for, that is to say the right type, the right stats, the number of holes and the maximum price desired. In order to fully understand the system, here are three examples of item purchases!

Have 6-hole linked armor

Here are the filters used to have the most affordable 6-hole linked armor:

• type: armor, rarity: rare
• maximum evasion 1 and energy shield 1, this will give you gloves only with armor
• number of linked holes: 6
• sorted by increasing price

Have a weapon with a lot of damage

Here are the filters used in order to have the weapon with the most physical damage at the cheapest price:

• type: axe, rarity: rare
• max price: 5 chaos
• sorted by increasing physical damage

Have an item with accurate stats

Here are the filters used to have an object with precise statistics:

• type: gloves, rarity: rare
• maximum evasion 1 and energy shield 1, this will give you gloves only with armor
• statistics sought: life, attack speed, physical damage added to attacks

Have a good gem

Here are the filters used to have a good gem without breaking the bank:

• jewel base
• "specific" affixes linked for example to one-handed weapons, axes, shields, etc.

You will be able to obtain all the items you want based on their price and statistics!

How to sell items in Path of Exile

Although buying is quick and easy, selling can be more complicated. Please note that without a premium vault tab, you will have to create a topic on the Path of Exile discussion forum. If you would like more information on this method, do not hesitate to indicate it in the comments. This method works but remains quite long and complicated. The simplest is to have a premium tab, which costs 1€ on the Path of Exile shop. Then proceed this way:

1. evaluate your item by putting its statistics (you can also use a Trade Macro to estimate the price if you wish)
2. set your tab to "public" and each object indicated individually
3. put your item in the tab with a right click to indicate the price
