How to kill Elder on Path Of Exile: learn all about the mechanics of the game's boss end game. After reading this guide it should be much easier!
With the arrival of expansion 3.9: Conquerors of the Atlas, the end game of Path Of Exile has been completely changed!
You will find in the video the rework of the Elder and how to kill him. Precision (thanks to Kevin Breard!), The Shaper dies during this run, my build not allowing an efficient clean of the mobs, the result being that the jewel Watcher's Eye do not drop!
For those who are familiar with the Elder before 3.9, you will not be surprised by this version. There is little difference and the Elder remains a fairly simple boss to fall (around Conquerors level max level).
Attacks:
- Ice Shard: Fairly high DPS, you can tank one, or even two, try to dodge them.
- Black AOE: the elder spins around and sends several black stars around it. Pretty easy to avoid, just get out of reach.
- Sweep: attack in an arc of a circle, easily spotted by the white mark veiled on the ground. To avoid !
- Explosion: this one is a little more technical, the Elder charges his attack for a few seconds. It is easily visible because it takes about the entire map. Wait until the last moment to get inside the circle to avoid his other attacks. During the explosion, you absolutely have to be in the middle or else RIP!
- Tentacle: The Elder pops tentacles, get out of range to simply dodge them.
- AOE ground: watch out for black marks on the ground, the damage is massive and the design of this skill makes it hard to see!
Phase 1: Elder "alone"
This phase is rather simple, hit the boss while watching out for his attacks and kill the mobs that appear. By knowing the mechanics you shouldn't have too much of a problem.
Phase 2: Protect the Shaper!
This phase is the most complex, the Shaper will activate 4 stones one after the other, while portals will appear with creeps to kill him. Try to clean these creeps as quickly as possible in order to save the Shaper and be able to drop a Watcher's eye.
Phase 3: Finish him!
This phase is like the first and more complex. Finish the boss by being careful of the creeps and his attacks.
With a little practice, you should be able to kill him with no worries with an endgame build. You will drop a fragment that will open the passage to the Uber Elder.
