Diablo 4 Lucky Shot Guide 00:00
What is the lucky shot?
Quite a particular statistic from Diablo 4, the lucky move allows you to have a chance to execute a non-elite monster. In itself, this bonus will be of no use to you. On the other hand, with a lucky strike you can benefit from multiple bonuses linked to your class and build, which will be indicated by "on a stroke of luck". Each time you have this affix, you will need to perform a lucky move to trigger it.
Lucky hit bonus, skill and effective percentage
In order to make a lucky shot, you have two statistics to take into account:
- your lucky hit bonuses
- the lucky shot linked to your skill
Each skill has a base lucky hit percentage, it is different for each skill. Then take the lucky hit bonus you use on your skill base. For example for the sorcerer's hydra, it is 3% base. You will need 33% lucky hit bonus to increase it to 4%. On frost flash, a spell at 40% base, if you are at 59% adding 15% lucky hit will increase it to 65% (40 x 0.15 + 59 = 65%). Remember that lucky hits are generally similar between skills, for example hydra is very weak at base because it attacks quickly and many times. Last element to take into account, be careful if your skill hits in an area, which will be much more effective in applying your lucky strike!
Diablo 4 Lucky Hit Chance
Now let's move on to the effect that interests us on the lucky shot, triggering an effect on a lucky shot. The effects are multiple and are linked to classes (chance to perform a nova, chance to have a poison zone, chance to gain fortification, etc.) or general (chance to slow down, chance to gain resources, chance to care). All of these effects are a low percentage and thus a low value. You must multiply your lucky shot via the chance of making the effect appear, for example:
- 30% chance to nova on a hydra attack with 4% = 1.2% chance per hydra attack
- 30% chance to nova on an ice blade attack at 24% = 7.2% chance per ice blade attack
With this guide you will know how the lucky shot works in full on Diablo 4 as well as how you can apply related effects, such as skills or healing!
