The patch is scheduled for January 23, during season 3.

Global balancing and new features

Here is everything that changes, common to classes:

  • added possibility for basic attacks:
    • unique gloves - gauntlets of the devourer: a non-basic skill marks targets, hitting with a basic attack deals extra damage and hits everyone
    • aspect of adaptability: mana gain when mana less than 50% and additional mana damage greater than 50% on a basic attack
    • juggernaut aspect: armor points increased but dodge time doubled
  • uber unique Starless Sky: no longer linked to main skills, reduces resource hit and increases your damage
  • uber unique Selig: characteristics doubled, skill damage replaced by movement speed, healthy damage tripled. The unique uber power gives more resources and takes 75% of damage instead of 100% on mana (for 2 resource points instead of 3)
  • overpower is nerfed, 1% damage instead of 2% per percentage of fortification and life

Diablo 4 Barbarian Changes

Here are the Barbarian changes:

  • new ring ring: duration of tear and cumulative bleeding of Tear applied via combat skill
  • new offensive aspect: Uprising overwhelms every 25 seconds and inflicts additional damage, reduced delay when Uprising overwhelms a boss or elite
  • skill charge: skill damage multiplied by 9
  • buff to key passives Walking Arsenal, Unconstrained and Gaping Wounds
  • The Mobilization glyph reduces the cooldown of all skills other than shouts
  • Aspect of Fury: Gain fury when a shout skill is active, rather than for each shout skill
  • Combat Veteran Aspect nerf, Ancient Charge to coincide with the Charge buff
  • Nerf of Overflowing Anger (Weapon Mastery)

Diablo 4 Druid Changes

Here are the changes to the Druid:

  • new gloves: Storm gains 1 additional strike each time he extends. Storm's critical hits double Lightning Strikes, dealing 10–20% more damage.
  • new aspect: reduced cooldown of Rabic Bite when you infect an enemy
  • Rabic Bite damage doubled
  • Reduced the cooldown of the Lacerate ultimate and the upgrade heals you
  • Ultimate Cataclysm damage increased, vulnerability buff duration increased
  • Some slight modifications to fortifications and metamorphoses passives
  • Buffed thorn spirit benefits, maximum spirit and critical damage
  • Aspect of the Troubled Beast: Shred deals bonus damage rather than applying a percentage of poison damage

Diablo 4 Necromancer Changes

Here are the necromancer changes:

  • harness of mutilation: you undergo a levy which gives you a fortification and chance of having a blood orb. Levy deals 10-20% more damage
  • Aspect of the Fragmented Spirit: Bone Spirit projects 18 Bone Shards, dealing 200 to 400% more damage and generating 6 essences per opponent hit
  • Light Iron Maiden Buffs, Macabre Blast, Blight, Section, Bone Spirit
  • The Decay upgrade makes you vulnerable or gives you movement speed
  • Blood Mist increases your critical chance instead of fortifying you
  • You can move (and your allies) in your Bone Prison, the improvement makes you vulnerable
  • Area effect for Blood and Iron golems
  • Aspect of the Growing Curse: Increased critical chance and maximum essence instead of damage based on distance traveled
  • Torturer Aspect: Iron Maiden is a Dark skill and deals shadow damage (in addition to having a chance to be stunned)
  • Light buff to Rotten Aspect and Massive Aspect

Diablo 4 Thief Changes

Here are the thief's modifications:

  • New Boots: After using an ultimate, your main skill consumes your energy and deals more damage. A skill with cooldown gives 5 energy
  • new appearance: after concealment, 10% resistance and maximum resistance to all elements. Killing an Elite reduces the cooldown of Hide
  • the trapdoor upgrade increases damage to targets
  • Decreased the cooldown of Arrow Rain
  • Light buff to Blade Passing, Frost Imbued, Penetrating Shot
  • Precision Buff, Ice Cap, Trauma, Stealth Vigor
  • Leyrana's Instinct Legendary Node Buff
  • Toxic Alchemist aspect buff
  • Buff of the unique Hurricane, Skychaser, Eagle's Horn

Diablo 4 Sorcerer Changes

Here are the changes to the sorcerer:

  • new helmet: meteor has 2 charges and a cooldown, projects three additional meteors. Enchanted Meteor and Empowered Meteor projects 1 additional meteor.
  • new aspect: 20% additional chance for ice blades to make targets vulnerable, you obtain 15 to 25% additional damage against vulnerable targets.
  • Burning Heat buff, Summon 2 Elemental, Bubbling Instinct, Broken Star Aspect, Staff of Lam Esen, Embers of the Frozen Heart
  • nerf lightning sphere: damage increased to 200% of attack speed replaced by attack speed up to 25%

Level of item drops

These changes allow you to not only have 925 items on world bosses:

  • the level of world boss items is reduced (instead of 925 almost guaranteed)
  • the level of non-unique items on bosses other than Duriel are reduced
  • the level of objects in nightmare dungeon is increased, nightmare dungeon level 90+ necessarily gives 925
