Everything you need to know about the Atlas to progress well in quests, find the final bosses and no longer die on POE!
Preamble
This guide is for both those who have just discovered the Atlas map system, and those who are tired of dying at the start of the map. Do not hesitate to go to the section that interests you directly!
The resistances
First crucial step before attacking your Atlas, you must have 75% to all your elemental resistances. Chaos resistance is less important, but the more resistance you have in it, the more comfortable you will be and avoid dying on poison or chaos damage. Try to aim for 0%. To reach these milestones, collect Boots, Helmet, Gloves, Rings, Belts, and Amulets items at approximately 1 Chaos each.
Crucial equipment weapons, armor, potions
In addition to the resistors, you will need to pay particular attention to these elements:
- the weapon that hits the hardest possible, depending on your budget. Start already with 4-5 chaos
- an armor with 5 linked holes (unless you use with a two-handed weapon), which costs about 5 chaos at the beginning of the league
- the potions, you can buy them or craft them via Einhar, you will need:
- immunity to bleeding or corrupted blood
- immunity to freezing (freezing)
- immunity to curses (curse)
- possible immunity to burns
These are the three key potions for an early Atlas. Thereafter you can refer to our Path of Exile builds for advanced potions. Below are the crafts via Einhar:
- of the Lizard on a utility potion
- of the Deer on a useful potion
Einhar utility potion crafts
To know about the Atlas
Here is the information you need to know about this system:
- the atlas is unlocked after completing the epilogue, you will have to go through it in order to face the biggest bosses in the game
- put the Map Device in your hideout to launch the maps directly from your hideout
- each map has a third, corresponding to a monster level, the higher it is, the higher the difficulty is also
- every day you receive a mission in addition to the Masters
- you have 6 portals, corresponding to the number of possible entries in the map, if there is no more portal and you die, you will not be able to access it. If you are for example 6, all portals are used directly
Types of cards and achievement
Each map has two levels of "done", a simple objective and a bonus objective:
- you finish it by killing the boss(es) of the map (limited interest)
- you complete the bonus objective by finishing with the correct level of rarity of the map (which gives an atlas point)
The cards are associated with different colors, be careful I speak of the color of the center and not of the rarity of this one. It's important to always look at the color in the center of your card to associate the bonus objective with it:
Colour | Tiers | Minimum rarity | Helpful Orbs |
---|---|---|---|
Wheat beer | I to V | At least magical | Transmute - normal to magic Alteration - magic reroll |
Yellow | VI to X | At least rare | Alchemy - normal to rare Regal - magic in rare Chaos - rare reroll |
Red | XI to XVI | Rare Corrupted | Vaal - corrupts a card The others above |
Only | N/A | Just finished the map | N/A |
Card modes
With each map, you must identify certain modes to avoid as much as possible. These make the map extremely complicated and will often result in one or more deaths, even on low level maps.
- X% more damage
- example 80% more damage in lightning, enemies hit almost twice as hard
- Players cannot recover life or energy shield
- care becomes very complicated
- Physical or Elemental Reflect
- depending on your build, you will kill yourself in one shot
- Critical hit percentage and critical hit damage
- it's not the most dangerous, but watch out for one shots
- Dual bosses
- it's also manageable, but be careful combined with other modifiers and the Maven
- Poison on Hit
- beware of your resistance to chaos
I do not recommend this map at first!
Kirac Jun Alva Niko Einhar Daily Missions
Every day you receive a daily mission from the five masters. Here's what you need to know:
- you can receive a mission of type White, Yellow or Red
- this mission will be of the same type as the last one completed before receiving it
- for example you end your farm session by finishing a T7 map, you will have a yellow mission
- these missions are all stored, you don't have to do them
Eternal Labyrinth and Fourth Ascension
One of the important activity is to recover the mazes from the cards. You must validate all 6 to be able to attempt your fourth and final ascent. Be careful, these are full-bodied and the eternal labyrinth is even more complicated! To find the mazes more easily, go to our uber maze guide.
maven and invite
During your mapping, you will meet The Envoy and Maven. You will need to kill map bosses and monitor progress by pressing G. Once you kill enough bosses, the last one will give you a Maven Invitation. Put it in the Atlas to kill the last three bosses at the same time and recover two atlas reset points. You will progress your story and Maven's next quest will be more complicated.
The three bosses of the Atlas
In addition to the Maven, you will have two other bosses to face. Each progress towards a boss is done by choosing on the map device. Be careful because it is linked to the third of the map!
Atlas Passives
When you press CTRL+G, you open Atlas' new passive. Be careful where you put points, because it is expensive to reset them. I'm planning a complete guide on the subject this week!
With this guide you will know everything about the Path of Exile Atlas and be ready to attack the maps! Remember to respect each section of this guide in order to progress very easily and without dying!
