Fancy a rogue by your side as a mercenary? The complete guide to learn all about efficient builds, their tiers and equipment!

Why a rogue mercenary

There are three reasons for playing the rogue mercenary, instead of the act 2 mercenary:

  • it hits hard, and yes the damage is significant for this mercenary
  • you can have fanaticism aura and its defense debuff is quite handy if you play damage
  • it will soon be buffed, in theory providing more power

Types of rogue mercenary

There are two types of rogue mercenaries:

  • cold damage: the most useful, which brings slowdowns
  • fire damage: very little interest at the moment, the fire damage is not huge

Note for the patch, that they plan to increase the size of the area of effect, so possibly mass slowing for cold or a large area of damage for fire, which could make them more complementary.

Fast recovery stages

I will always advise against your rogue being in melee, so FHR levels are unattractive. I still gave them to you just in case.

  • 0
  • 6
  • 13
  • 20
  • 32
  • 52
  • 86
  • 174

Attack speed stages

The bearings are more complicated, since they depend on the weapon. I put the ones with a Windforce on a Hydra bow bases for you. If you have other item bases, consider calculating your steps! It will be interesting to aim for the 78 or 120 level.

  • 0 - 16 - 1.38
  • 5 - 15 - 1.47
  • 11 - 14 - 1.56
  • 22 - 13 - 1.66
  • 34 - 12 - 1.78
  • 50 - 11 - 1.92
  • 78 - 10 - 2.08
  • 120 - 9 - 2.27
  • 215 - 8 - 2.5

Equipment

I'll start with the arcs, you have four choices:

  • Harmony: grants damage and mobility aura. Shooting Ith Sol Ko. It is very simple to do and is the basic weapon for your mercenary.
  • Windforce Hurricane: to hit harder and also gives base attack speed. You can also add Shael to have 40% attack speed.
  • Faith Faith: the best weapon, granting Fanaticism aura and damage
  • Ice Ice: a very good alternative, Holy Immobilize aura, cold penetration, etc., great if playing cold damage

For armor, it's more restricted:

  • Treachery, for attack speed, Shael Thul Lem
  • Fortitude, for damage, El Sol Dol Lo

For the helmet:

  • Face of Andariel with good gems (attack speed,% damage or max damage)
  • a helmet with life stolen pending (Tal Rasha, Crown of Thieves)
  • possibly Giant Skull Giant Skull with two happy attack speed damage, or William Face with gems

The mercenary used for the gameplay:

  • Windforce Shael 40% + Face of Andariel 20% + Fortitude, the level 50 is reached but not the 78, and besides impossible by putting a jewel 15% attack speed

Act 1 mercenaries are therefore great if you want to add physical damage to your build. They also allow you to bring specific auras for certain builds on Diablo 2 Resurrected! They are therefore not to be underestimated, even while waiting for the patch!

Hello, I have a question that may be stupid, but can this mercenary equip an Amazonian bow to benefit from the +x skill?

Ah okay that's a shame, I'm thinking of taking this mercenary for my auradin paladin in order to benefit from fanaticism while carrying my own conviction
