Editor's note: the formats are different from the usual content, but the patch being the biggest update of Diablo 4, the idea is that everyone can have the level of detail they want with the adapted content!

Release Date Patch 1.2 Diablo 4

The patch is scheduled for October 17, during season 2.

Diablo 4 Resistance and Armor

The resistance system changes completely, with operation similar to Diablo 2:

  • each resistance can be cap, with a maximum of 70%
  • resistances will reduce the damage received, 20% + 20% will give you 40% (which was not the case before)
  • you can increase the max resistance cap, for example with a poison resistance potion
  • rings and amulets will have elemental resistances to everything
  • you will have resistances on equipment and paragon
  • it will be important tohave all your resistances at max in endgame (level 80+)

Critical, vulnerable and overpower, the second major change in Diablo 4

These changes will be key for your builds, you also have our detailed analysis on the new meta available :

  • it is no longer interesting to combine critical and vulnerable, the combined max can be 70% (even with 300% critical damage and 200% vulnerable damage)
  • overpower is much more powerful
  • you will need to focus on overpower OR vulnerability OR critical
  • you will have to focus your build on the idea behind it, for example a blood necromancer will necessarily be overpower
  • certain combinations of vulnerable and critical will be possible with the right affix, such as the new legendary Banished Lord's Talisman "your critical hits that overwhelm do 80 to 120% additional damage)

They clarified that we will have multiplicative damage buffs for each class so as not to have a loss of damage following this change.

Diablo 4 unique changes

The unique system has been generally improved, in order to have one used for all objects:

  • each unique one had its own touch
  • the stats are
    • are stronger, for example +20% damage on a legendary would give +40% damage on the unique
    • are specific to the unique, you will not have it on legendary items
    • are normally impossible to have on the object base, for example a weapon affix on unique armor
    • some unique items have a mix of both
  • 3 new unique ones have been revealed
    • druid: by casting Rock during Hurricane it rotates around the character
    • sorcerer: each time you dodge into an enemy, reduces the cooldown of your ultimate by 4 seconds (max 10 seconds)
    • thief: when you have infinite energy via thief expertise, your main skills have a 64% chance of spawning a poison, shadow or trap trap
    • the new unique ones are available here

New Diablo 4 Aspects

The new aspects are available here especially the aspect of hydra buff and damage in bear form of the druid!

Diablo 4 Barbarian Changes

The barbarian has changed little, the paragon nodes are improved and the damage bonus when using fury during the berzerk's rage is cap. Note that you will always have to be under berzerk, the bonus damage from berzerk is now multiplicative instead of additive. The overpower Barbarian will also be stronger.

Diablo 4 Druid Changes

The druid has changed little, crow and rabid bite buff. Bonus damage with the bear aspect is cap.

Diablo 4 Necromancer Changes

The Necromancer has several important modifications:

  • nerf of bone specialization (bone spirit and bone spear)
  • 30% maximum damage on necromancer summons which are basic
  • light summons buff
  • the thorns transmitted are on a common affix (no more separation of warrior, mage or golem)

Diablo 4 Wizard Changes

The wizard has changed little, however he receives an incineration improvement and the ice orb in mastery.

Diablo 4 Thief Changes

The thief has changed little, however he receives an improvement to his four basic skills and a little from arrow rain.

New Diablo 4 Glyphs

Two glyphs have been added per class, note that they focus on improving less used skills, such as the thief's grenade or the Barbarian's earthquake. THE new glyphs are available here.

Diablo 4 unique drop table

The unique ones obtainable depending on the bosses have been revealed, they will very soon be translated and added to our instance section !

Patch 1.2.1, finally the models on Diablo 4!

Before Blizzcon, we will have patch 1.2.1, which will add damage test dummies. This will finally be the opportunity to test your builds and damage easily!
