Diablo 4 PTR Summary

Here are all the changes from patch 1.4:

  • redesign of affixes, no more spending hours sorting your equipment
  • codex overhaul, no need to store your legendary aspects anymore
  • overhaul of crafts, giving new affixes with tempering and improving their power with improvement
  • added possibility of affixes, such as the number of Frozen Orb projectiles
  • revamped helltides, making them much more interesting and dynamic
  • added an endgame instance, The Pit, ranging from level 1 to 200 and starting at monster level 100
  • added a tormented version of the bosses, allowing you to face them at level 150 or 200
  • elixirs are much easier to obtain and more effective
  • you can exchange your items if they are not uber unique or crafted

Remember that currently the season theme and its associated buffs are still unknown. This will be added to the overhaul of almost half of the game to respond to the vast majority of expectations on Diablo. We can still note a few absences, such as the armory or the social functions of guilds and games, but in the meantime Diablo finally offers an endgame and crafting system.

Here are all the points of improvement for The pit :

  • drops from the pit even at a very high level are less interesting than a nightmare dungeon with dozens of levels less and do not allow you to obtain random drops of boss materials as is the case for example in a dungeon nightmare, overall the pit is of very little interest once our equipment is 12/12 (which is quite quick to obtain)
  • shrines make it too easy to kill pit bosses
  • have an anti-death bubble at the end of the pit, like in nightmare dungeons
  • clarify the difficulty changes of levels 100 and above, once the monster level no longer changes
  • have boss compositions, like in a nightmare dungeon when you kill an elite pack

Here are all the improvements for the system endgame :

  • keeping a level 154 course on the nightmare dungeons doesn't really make sense when the pit goes up to level 199 (+100 levels thereafter), the open world will also be much simpler remaining level 100
  • Lilith as a farming boss and in version 200
  • have materials on Varshan, Grigoire, Ice Beast and Lord Zir multiplied by 5 on bosses 200, compensating for the increased cost of materials by 5
  • have drops that are worth the 200 challenge and the time needed to successfully kill the boss

Here are all the improvements for the system craft :

  • the "skip" function of the improvement remains too long and the "fail" function of a craft is not really of interest. You might as well multiply the combo cost by the chances of success and guarantee 100% success. Otherwise, trying to get the right upgraded affixes can be very time-consuming.
  • the number of tempers is rather limited, which can be frustrating
  • craft recipes for tempering are quite complicated to obtain
  • rare crystals are much less rare than legendary, impossible to convert them currently
  • prisms to add sockets are difficult to obtain

Here are all the improvements balancing et quality of life :

  • balancing the Dust Tornado Barbarian and Rock Druid far too powerful
  • Yen's Blessing unique boots are of little interest
  • Uniques have one less affix than Legendaries, which makes them less legitimate in builds
  • uber unique weapons lose power compared to legendaries
  • rare yellow objects are no longer of interest, being able to hide them or transform them into materials directly
