Diablo IV Artificers Pit Guide, new instance of endgame season 4 patch 1.4, for Stygian stones and improvement!

Diablo 4 Pit Operation

The Pit is an instance that can be reached when you complete a level T46 Nightmare Dungeon. You will receive a quest allowing you to unlock the instance. A bit like Diablo 3's trial flaws, you will have a limited time to kill enough monsters and make the boss appear. By killing this boss, you will obtain crafting materials as well as a Stygian Stone, allowing you to face farm bosses at level 200.

You have 10 minutes to do the instance, the first death causes you to lose 30 seconds, then 60 seconds, then 90 seconds for all subsequent deaths. The Artificers' Pit offers several hundred levels and you will unlock an additional third by finishing with 4 to 6 minutes remaining or two additional thirds with more than 6 minutes remaining. Like multi-player boss farming, if you play with several players, only the person who launched the instance will receive the Stygian stone. Be careful, the instance remains simple but the bosses hit very hard and benefit from bonus attacks from bosses like Lilith or Elias. To face the bosses, remember to keep a sanctuary and activate it just before your progress bar makes the boss appear, this will make it much easier. Finally, don't forget that this instance does not give glyph experience! So remember to improve them in order to be able to climb to the pit level!

Diablo 4 Pit Rewards

The more you increase the level of the pit, the more Stygian stones you will obtain. You will also get more improvement materials as well as improved rarity:

• Levels 1 to 20: blue magical materials, crafting tier 1 to 4
• Levels 20 to 40: rare yellow materials, crafting level 5 to 8
• Levels 40+: legendary orange materials, crafting level 9 to 12

You will be able to convert legendary materials to rare and rare materials to magic via the alchemist.

Here are the levels of the pit:

• 1 to 100: monsters of level 1 to 199
• 101 to 200: level 199 monsters

You will therefore want to aim for 16 armor for a maximum resistance of 500%. Currently it is impossible to know if dungeon affixes become more difficult and to understand exactly the increase in difficulty past level 85, the monsters remaining level 101 and the number of affixes not displayed on the PTR.
