Magic Legends Test: all you need to know about the Perfect World game! Is it worth it and does it respect the universe of Magic the Gathering?

Gameplay

In the game, you have two basic spells, costing no mana, as well as cards to use that recharge randomly throughout your deck. Imagine a draw on a card game, it's the same principle: as soon as you cast a spell, you draw a new one at random from those in your deck.

This is the highlight of the game, creating a pretty cool system linked to your creation of your deck. You can currently choose two types of mana, a priori more will be possible a little later.

Even if the idea is original and attractive, in fact the gameplay unfortunately remains too soft and this is my main criticism of the game. It will be hard to stick to the game and find a deep interest in the mechanics. Overall I find the spells too slow, unlike the other hack and slash I have been able to test (Path of Exile, Diablo, Chronicon, Last Epoch, etc.), and I quickly tended to get bored .

The game is heavily based on the daily and weekly quest, this quest system that you have to do every day and per week. So be prepared to connect regularly to avoid progressing too slowly or falling behind!

Graphics and performance

The graphics of Magic Legends are decent, without being super sexy but in theory allow the majority of players to be able to play the game. However, the performance is quite high and will still require a pc that holds the road. We could have liked as such graphics worthy of the name. As an example, my laptop which runs League of legends carefree is unable to run Magic Legends, even in minimum and windowed configuration. Optimization would therefore be welcome!

the arrival in the world of magic legends

Your arrival in the world will be dewy

Dungeons and world

The world of Magic Legends is made up of several worlds, these being divided into several maps. You can teleport from one location to a high using a waypoint system. The world is big enough and will allow you to occupy a lot to get to the end.

In these different maps, you will find dungeons, a team instance allowing you to have a reward. This reward is indexed to your score during this instance and to its level of difficulty that you can adjust. A pretty cool system that will allow you to combine hard try and repeatability.

Free to play or pay to win?

In a free game, one of the crucial points is knowing the advantages of paying. Much like card games, you can spend euros to get chests with cards and cosmetics. You can also buy experience boosts to progress faster in the game.

In the end, this system is not too disturbing for those who do not wish to go to the cash register, but be aware that you will need more time to reach the level and equipment of the paying players. I would therefore rather qualify this game as pay to fast rather than pay to win.

Inventory, deck and character progression

You will be able to equip different pieces of armor, such as rings, gloves and helmet and change the appearance via the tailor in town who can change your appearance. You have different currencies, and leveling up will unlock spells. It will therefore still be important to level up well. There is no "i" key, which is quite confusing for a Hack & Slash. A little bit of interface improvement will be appreciated during the beta.

You will collect gold on the creeps and can have different currencies. The most important point will still be to collect the most interesting cards. These are more or less rare and are classified by level, from weakest to strongest. You can then create one or more decks by putting your favorite cards and synergies.

I note overall a farm side which will be significant, be careful if you are not attracted by this aspect!

What makes <span style="font-family: 'arial black', 'avant garde';">inlingua</span> different The -
  • The principle of the original deck
  • The vastness of the world
  • Not really exciting gameplay
  • Not great but delicious designs
  • The farm character if we don't pay
Alchemists SlashingCreeps

I was looking forward to Magic Legends, being a fan of the card game and hack and slash in general myself. Unfortunately, I am left with a bitter taste of disappointment after having spent several hours there. The good thing is that it's free, so it won't cost you anything to try this game! Let's hope that there are big updates before the final release of the game!
