To start season 3.17 on the right foot, I offer you my Bleeindg Gladiator league starter build for Path of Exile Siege of the Atlas!
How the build works
Here is why this build is interesting and powerful at the start of the season:
- I use ax and shield, ax costs nothing at the beginning of the season and shield for resistance
- it's a life build, no need to bother with energy shield and chaos resistance
- this build also does good damage, thanks to bleeding
Note that this is an alternative version of my other build starter Berzerker and that there will be minor changes while playing it. It will therefore be updated once mounted and finished!
Gems and Skills
Here are the gems and links to use:
- On armor
- Primary Spell: Lacerate, Brutality, Melee Physical Damage, Faster Attack, Fortify, Deadly Ailments
- On helmet, boots or gloves:
- Totems: Brutality, Ancestral Warchief, Bloodlust, Multiple Totem
- Utility: Leap | Enduring Cry | Molten Shell (10), Cast When Damage Taken (1)
- Auras: War Banner, Enlighten, Flesh and Stone, Pride
- On shield or axe:
- Support spells: Blood rage, Flame Golem, Herald of Purity
- Counterattack and curse: Vengeance, Vulnerability, Hextouch
Passives tree
Here is the tree of passives, you find both on the tree of PoE Planner here. Take in this order:
- life liabilities
- then the ax passives
- then the bleeding passives
You will need 116 points, or level 92!
Passives at level 92
Ancestry
For our Duelist, you'll take Gladiator, with the passives in this order:
- Outmatch and Outlast, gain frenzy charge and increase damage
- Arena Challenger, put Stance Blood on bosses and Sand on maps
- Blood in the Eyes, chance of Bleeding, Maim and Blind
- Gratuitous Violence, enemy explosion and damage buff
Painforged is interesting but less powerful than Gratuitous Violence.
The choice of ancestry
Pantheon
Here are the gods to choose for the major soul:
- Soul of the Brine King, much less stun on the map
- Soul of Solaris, resistance against bosses
For the minor soul:
- Soul of Gruthkul, less physical damage received
Bandits
Kill the bandits, the tree is quite greedy you will need the two passive points.
Equipment
This section will be updated once gear is collected, but here's what you should aim for:
- Weapon: ax that hits as hard as possible, endgame buffs for Bleeding
- Shield: rare then Lioneye's Remorse
- Armor: as soon as possible a 5-hole linked armor, then 6-hole linked, then Belly of the Beast 6-hole armor
- Helmet: rare with resistance and life, basic armor
- Boots: rare with resistance, movement speed and life, basic armor or the Kaom boots
- Gloves: rare with attack speed, damage added in physics, if possible on Spiked Gloves (damage in addition to base)
- Belt: rare with life, percentage of physical damage and resistances, if possible on Stygian Aim for two holes
- Amulet: attack speed, physical damage added, physical damage over time, life, attributes, resistances, steal mana or life
- Rings: percent damage, added physical damage, life
- you might be able to pick up a ring that casts Vulnerability on hit, but that's expensive!
- Steel Ring base in endgame
- Amulet Anointment, Hatchet Master - Verdant Teal Crimson
For the potions:
- For care: Divine with instant care and anti-bleeding
- For Onslaught: Silver with increased armor or evasion
- For damage: Sulfur with anti-curse
- For damage and armor: Lion's Roar
- For mobility: Quicksilver with additional movement speed
For gems, look for rare with:
- Life percentage
- Attack Speed with Ax or Shield
- Attack speed (more expensive)
- Physical Damage Over Time or Bleeding Damage
Later, a Watcher Eye affecting Pride will come in handy!
