Blizzcon 2023

La Blizzcon is making a comeback, after being stopped during the pandemic. The last physical version dates from 2019, while there was an online version at the beginning of 2021. This is an opportunity to find the announcements, particularly during the opening ceremony, which lasted around an hour in previous editions. Unlike previous Blizzcons, we do not have access to the schedule for the two days, setting the tone for what's new. However, many clues are available, you will find the summary below! Each item is indicated between dream and reality, telling you the probability of this happening, or not!

Diablo 3 RAS - reality

Blizzard having announced thecessation of development and each new season a theme from the old ones, there will very probably be nothing concerning Diablo 3. Note all the same the quantity of content added over time for more than ten years, a feat for a game released in 2012 !

Diablo Immortal - ?

Diablo Immortal is probably the title with most updated. It would be surprising to see a big announcement especially following the recent addition of the new class.

Diablo 4 expansion - part dream, part reality

The developers have announced two expansions for Diablo 4, which are already in preparation. Blizzcon should tell us more about the rest of the fourth opus, even if it arrives two weeks after the launch of season 2. We also know that the development teams are separated, one working on even seasons, the other odd and one on extensions.

Diablo 2 Resurrected expansion - dream

Since the addition of Terror Zones Diablo 2 Resurrected, the game is calm, very calm. The last two seasons have not offered any new content and we can wonder if this means thetermination of development or a future expansion on Diablo 2 Resurrected. Blizzcon will definitely answer the question, with a massive surprise or endgame.

Overwatch 2 - reality

Great unknown among the announcements as Overwatch 2 is far from unanimous. Only game of the license released on Steam and accumulates the worst possible reviews, Blizzard does not seem to have said its last word for its FPS. Being one of the biggest panels, we should have some info! We just have to wait !

World of Warcraft 2024 expansion - reality

The last WoW expansion dating from November 2022, this Blizzcon would be the perfect opportunity to announce a new expansion, at least a major content update for Blizzard's MMO. We will also potentially have new features for WoW Classic.

Starcraft 3 - dream

While everyone thought Blizzard had abandoned Starcraft 2 when they signed over the Esports rights to ESL, the game had some patches but it is mainly the tweets from the president of Blizzard which teases the future of Starcraft 2. What is much less reassuring is that there is no panel dedicated to Starcraft. Great mystery hoping to have an answer at this Blizzcon!

Project Odissey, new Blizzard license - reality

For several years Blizzard has been working on a unannounced survival game, most likely we will have a trailer or content to discover at Blizzcon for this new license codenamed Project Odissey.

Heroes of the Storm 2.5 - dream within a dream

The cessation of development on Heroes of the Storm had the effect of a tsunami for fans of Blizzard's MOBA. However, some Heroes of the Storm fixes were recently made to the game, coinciding with the arrival of Blizzcon. There is also no Heroes panel at Blizzcon. Maybe we'll have a surprise next!

Heartstone and Warcraft Rumble - reality

Alongside Blizzard's two mobile games, we should have an expansion on Heartstone and a playable version of Warcraft Rumble there. We should also have a release date for this new mobile game! Update 04/10, the release date of Warcraft Rumble has just been announced for November 3, 2023.

In addition to new products, competitions and Esport

Blizzcon will also be an opportunity to find contest (cosplay, artistic and digital storytelling) and Overwatch World Cup 2.
