Patch 1.4 Diablo 4 fixes, all buffs and nerfs for May 14
Campfire Summary Season 4 Diablo 4 May Patch 1.4
Lexicon and acronyms Gamer and Hack and Slash by SlashingCreeps

Levels

  • once the intro is done you will start to level up. I advise you to max ferocity to boost your damage. Your survivability shouldn't be a problem during story mode, thanks to your gear.
  • the passive points will be a little more complicated. It will necessarily take time (or take an existing build) to do something consistent. I advise you to choose an archetype (red, blue or green), then to choose a direction, by turning the wheel if necessary (you must therefore look at all the "blue points" for example if you choose the blue archetype). Take consistent points! If you're maxing out elemental damage, don't bother looking for poison passives.

skills

  • The spells can be bought from the merchant or dropped. I recommend 1 or 2 DPS spells, and the rest of the support spells.
  • Pay attention to the type of spell, which each time requires a particular weapon to be able to use it.
  • If you already have a spell, having it again will give you primordial affinity, which allows you to level up a particular spell near the merchant. Pay attention to skill tags to find out what mechanics are linked to them.

Equipment

  • Remember to see the merchant quite often, as his stuff updates every fifteen minutes.
  • If you play a mage, think about spell damage, if you hit with a weapon the material damage
  • For gems, be careful to read the type of socket to put the gem with the effect you want!

Damage and resistance

There are three types of damage, and therefore associated with three resistances:

  • Material: physical, bleeding, poison
  • Elementary: fire, cold, lightning
  • Occult: sacred, shadow, ether

Be careful not to play on several types of damage in order to avoid a low DPS!

Afflictions

These are the effects you can inflict, there are 9 in total:

  • Burn: causes the target to burn
  • Shock: stun via lightning
  • Stun: stun the enemy
  • Poisoning: poisons the enemy
  • Weakness: lowers the resistance of enemies
  • Freeze: immobilizes the target, attacks can break the freeze
  • Dark Spread: Spreads ailments from one unit to the closest
  • Bleeding: causes the target to bleed
  • Stasis: Reduces the movement speed of enemies
